JW86 has started his journey in Chiptunes music since 2006. With other colleagues, he started the chiptunes movement in Indonesia, where chiptunes music is very taboo to them that operates music in conventional and conservative ways. Being a musician is always his dream ever since high school. Now the limitation of processing music in chiptunes world doesn’t affect him to make more and more songs. Instead of giving up, the limitations itself captivated him in order to maximizing his musicality with a very minimal equipment. Based on my familiarity on hearing through other 8 bit musician, JW86 have his very own way in producing chiptunes music. His music is more structurized, captivating, and even better, his music brings me trough the old times, where Nintendo was my weapon of choice. I wish I could classify his songs through one genre, but by far, his music was very colorful. Techno, pop, electronic, you named it. In my humble opinion, if I would take some album’s name to describe JW86’s music, I would say that his music is a magical mystery tour. Or should I call it a magical mystery journey?
