Rapper Jonas Joseph (professionally known as JayO Sama) made a big noise in the South Florida scene with his 2016 breakthrough “Intro.” But he was killed in 2019 before he could realize his full potential. • Despite a string of legal troubles, JayO consistently rapped and made beats in high school. JayO was born on November 1, 1996, in West Palm Beach, Florida. His parents were born in Haiti and immigrated to the U.S. where he and his siblings were born. He has two siblings, a brother, who goes by Rip T.J., and a sister, Ermika Joseph. Jayo Sama’s career was tragically cut short on January 27, 2019, when he was shot to death in West Palm Beach, Florida, and died at the age of 22 years old. On Instagram, rapper 12 Honcho confirmed the death of Jayo Sama, saying the late rapper had been advised to leave Florida because of gun violence. Sama’s girlfriend, Sofia Veronica, confirmed that she is pregnant with his son, who he leaves behind. In addition, Sofia, also known as Lil SoSo, has been developing her music career.
