A lil About CaliGold Entertainment's J.GiB As an teen in junior high through high school J. GIB would battle rap in the halls with other young mcs to gain respect. As the battles got more intense J.GiB’s talent and buzz got stronger as well. He graduated from battling to making and selling Mix tapes. His first mix tapes were with Taylor Made Musik and while making mix tapes he started recording original records over custom beats. In 2002 J.GIB started Takeova Entertainment with the desire to control his own career and destiny. When asked why he is called “The Soul Of The City”, J.GIB replied “I felt like Sacramento didn't have its own soul and identity musically. Instead of hoping on the bandwagons of other artist from other regions I wanted Sacramento to have a artist that they could get behind and be proud of.” And with that mentality J.GIB has won several awards including the Sacramento Best Rapper Award. He has opened shows for artist such as Ludacris, Nas, E-40, Keak Da Sneak, Mistah Fab, Too Short, etc. J.GIB has done 3 international SMASH hits with Punjabi artist Jazzy B and Sukshinder Shinda. He has also shot 3 international videos for “Romeo” with Jazzy B, "Punjabi Clap", and "Shoulder Surf" with Sukshinder Shinda. J.GIB has releases three solo mix tapes "Back in Session“ with former West Coast DJ of the year Alvin D, “Still on the Grizzly “With Former West Coast DJ Of The Year and heavy hitter, DJ Knuckles.
