J. Marcus (born James McGuire on 1983-01-14) is a Cameroonian-American electronica and hip hop artist/producer who grew up in Rome, Italy and currently resides in Brooklyn, NY. He brings beats and songs with cinematic poise, jazz chops and a performance feel. A multi-instrumentalist, he's been studying and performing music for over 13 years. J. Marcus' style blends a varying palette of sounds: from lush, complex, synthesized landscapes to dust-speckled funk and jazz, carved, weathered and blue.
