J-Zen is a French producer, fascinated by music since his record collector father offered him his first LP at 7 years. From then he developed his taste for music, any kind of music. This eclectism that you can find in the young producer’s composition, was passed on to him by a member of his family, who said “listen what you want to not what the people want you to listen!” At the age of 12, he learns playing bass guitar before discovering RZA, DJ Premier and J Dilla, these artists will be a revelation. “Crate digger” his originals mixes and musical knowledge will allow him to open for the greatest: DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ Premier and Pharoahe Monch In 2004 he get a Mpc2000 XL and decide to give his own vision of Hip Hop, a mix of samples (soul,jazz,rock) fat beats and heavy basslines. « Breakfast » has been released June 2009 on Dooinit Music, and he’s now working on a album.
