Jörg-Peter Mittmann (* 1962 in Minden ) is a German composer and music theorist . Mittmann received his artistic training with Giselher Klebe and Walter Steffens (composition), Helmut Winschermann and Gernot Schmalfuß (oboe). At the same time, he studied philosophy and history (with among others Reinhart Koselleck ), since 1982 with the support of the German National Academic Foundation. In 1992 he received his doctorate in Munich at Rolf-Peter Horstmann with a thesis on the early German Idealism. This was followed by publications, lectures and seminars on the topics of particular subjectivity, language analysis, music aesthetics and music theory. In 1990, he was among the founders of the ensemble Horizonte (Detmold), whose conceptual and artistic director is in his hands. In addition to contemporary music characterizes the orientation of thematic guides and the interaction with the representatives of other arts ensemble work as well as the compositional works Mitt's.
