Jíva is a project hailing from Germany. The four members met in school and decided to make music. Their individual, experimental and unique sound emerged in several jam-sessions. Most of the time, their songs don't follow a specific structure - apart from the virtuosic bass riffs, which deliver the musical orientation, each other instrument is played in a improvisational way. The ensemble is comprised of the following musicians: (in alphabetical order) Martin Baasch: The musical head, plays various instruments in the band, among them: guitar, drums, piano, but also some rather special instruments like melodica or accordion. Martin is also responsible for electrical soundscapes from the computer. Ylli Loshaj: The native-born Kosovo-Albanian plays the lead guitar most of the time. Doing so, he fascinates listeners with his calm, spherical sounds, as well as with challenging picking parts. He's also an experienced bass player, but his heart beats for the guitar. Kevin Pütz: Kevin comes in in various positions, too. Most of the time he takes parts that need to be taken. In his life beside the band he is barely occupied with music, unlike his band mates. Markus Schablack: Markus joined in with Jíva briefly when the time came to play some harder pieces of music. With his well-choosen powerchords he brought in a special kind of ecstasy to Jívas tracks.
