Born 25th April 1966 (Marseille, France), Jérôme Noetinger followed his musical training in electroacoustic music under the direction of Xavier Garcia in Grenoble (France) from 1986 to 1988. He was one of the three founding members of the Metamkine intervention cell (Cellule d’Intervention Metamkine) since 1987, alongside french cinéasts Christophe Auger and Xavier Quérel. He has collaborated with longtime partner Lionel Marchetti since 1993 and Mathieu Werchowski (1997-1998). He has played with Nachtluft, Voice Crack, Tom Cora, Michel Doneda, Lê Quan Ninh, Martine Altenburger, Emmanuel Petit, Marc Pichelin, Jean Pallandre, Dominique Répécaud, Peter Hollinger, Keith Rowe, and avant-improv orchestra MIMEO (since 1997). He runs the Metamkine Record label (and was responsible for curating its 'Collection Cinéma pour l’oreille' series) and is currently a member of the editorial board of French magazine Revue & Corrigée.
