Born in the Balkans, Iva Misovic, who goes by the artist name IVA LORENS, began writing songs when she was 9, later exploring her lyricism through-out high school by recording demos and eventually beginning to create her sound in her bedroom after moving to Berlin for college. IVA LORENS, also a former MTV Adria VJ, was heavily influenced by artists such as Depeche Mode, Kate Bush and Massive Attack. "I don't write songs about things I don't know." LORENS is surprisingly concise, even diligent- rejecting the typical notions of cloudiness and naivety expected of youth. Her willingness to expose herself- just as she is- can be completely captivating, if not startling. IVA LORENS a singer, songwriter and producer now based in Belgrade and Berlin, she delivers her narrative with emotion by layering her vocals on down-casting pop melodies making her entry to the pop scene inevitable.
