Hailing from San Jose, California, the band ISOBAR formed in 2020 consisting of the trio of Malcolm SMITH (guitars), Marc SPOONER (keyboards), and Jim ANDERSON (bass), all three previously from the critically-acclaimed, Bay Area band METAPHOR. The band was able to recruit Mattias OLSSON (drums) from ÄNGLAGåRD and together with other guests, put together their self-titled, debut album in the same year. This instrumental album boasts quite an array of progressive styles to make it an enjoyable eclectic listening experience, one that will appeal to progressive rock lovers everywhere. At times, the music has a wonderful retro sound and others sounding relevant for our times. This is an impressive band that many will watch for once they have heard their music.
