VIS Iskre is a great instrumental band from former Yugoslavia that was active during 60s. They released 4 7”EPs and even appeared in a movie. Members: Branislav Nikolić, Branko Gluščević (Guitar and bass player, also member of Siluete, Iskre, Lutalice and Dah), Branko Marušić Čutura (Guitar player and singer member of several ex-YU rock bands including Iskre, Albatrosi, Džentlmeni and Dah), Dragan Mirković, Draško Reljin, Miloš Sekulić, Slavoljub Bogdanović. They are very primitive, raw and kinda weird and with really fantastic spacey and groovy sounding organ. Actually they are not completely instrumental band, on their 7”EPs there are 2 vocal songs and not all 4 of their 7”s are instrumental. One is with Ivanka Pavlovic and this one is a real killer. It’s girl beat/r’n’r at its best. And for all of you who like covers of your favorite songs in languages different than English, this one is highly recommended.
