Upon leaving Montreal’s Men Without Hats in 1982, Jérémie Arrobas and Michael Gabriel put together another band where synthesizers would also dominate: Isinglass. Backed by a plethora of musicians (notably Pierre Lacoste of Trans-X), their group pushed catchy original Post-Punk and New Wave compositions that stood apart on the local scene. Following positive reviews and numerous consecutive US tours, Isinglass curiously never got to publish a single nor an album at the time. The musicians relentlessly recorded many demo cassettes showing their rapid evolution and undeniable commercial appeal.
