Irmãs de Pau was a Brazilian duo formed by trans artists Vita and Isma.They debuted officially in 2020 and disbanded in 2025. Irmãs de Pau explored multiple genres, including funk, drill, vogue, electronic, and pop, always with funk as their core musical anchor. They released their debut album, Dotadas, in September 2021 via crowdfunding, blending dancehall, trap, vogue, and funk. Their breakout single, Shambaralai, released in 2022, has earned over 5 million streams and is their most viewed music video. They also featured on a remix of Pabllo Vittar's hit Derretida, released in July 2023. In 2025, they released their third and final full-length album, Gambiarra Chic, Pt. 2, a project that fuses funk ostentation, drill, and rap, featuring collaborators like Duquesa, Ebony, Ventura Profana, and producers such as DJ Dayeh, CyberKills and more. Later in 2025, the duo announced their disband and released their final single Medley do Novo Fim while they were making a short goodbye tour. Both are known for their activism and outspoken embrace of sexual identity and empowerment. The name “Irmãs de Pau” highlights chosen familial bonds within transgender communities and celebrates queer resistance through music and performance. Isma and Vita keeps changing Brazilian music's history, both as a duo and in their solo careers today.
