Born : July 27, 1939 in Zürich, Switzerland. Irene Aebi is best known for her vocal work in husband Steve Lacy 's various projects. Since the mid-'60s, she has sung texts by writers such as Lao Tsu and Braque that Lacy sets to music. After having met in Rome, the couple moved around South America before settling in Paris in 1969. The Swiss singer Aebi also plays violin and cello, and has appeared on Bobby Few and Derek Bailey recordings.
