Her new album ‘Wild by Nature’ interweaves Celtic melodies, orchestral harmonies and captivating rhythms with enchanting, inspiring stories that soothe the soul. Iona’s voice alternately soars and pours through a collection of self-penned, borrowed and embellished poems. Iona’s talent for song writing is clear from her poignant lyrics that make reference to nature, legends and myths, such as her song ‘Nature’s Lament’, which is based on William Wordsworth’s ‘Early Lines in Spring’. Drawing comparisons to Loreena McKennitt and Deva Premal, Iona’s striking voice, combined with her fresh approach to New Age music, heralds her arrival as a significant artist. The Daily Music Guide said: “Despite hailing from Sydney [Australia], Iona Leigh’s foremost years were spent in a remote [eco-village and spiritual] community in the Highlands of Scotland.
