There are at least 2 bands called Innerstate. 1) In 1991 a group of school friends from Redditch, Worcestershire, UK, formed InnerState to play their own heavy metal music. They recorded two albums with Roadrunner: 'A tell-tale trail' in 1992 and 'Protest to the signs' in 1993. The band supported the comedy heavy metal band, Green Jelly' on their European tour of 1993 and then split up the following year when their recording contract ended. 2) A dutch band called Innerstate. It was formed in the summer of 2005 when the cover band of drummer Martijn, guitarist Sander and frontman Martin broke up. They then decided to make a new start and form a band with which they would only play original material. Thereafter bass player Jarl was asked to join the new band. The band has been performing live regularly as of early 2006 and not without success! They were awarded second place at the finals of the Nijmegen University student band competition that same year. By that time they had defeated fourteen other bands which had participated! In January of 2007, the band recorded their first EP. Currently, they are performing as frequently as possible and are busy writing new material, so that old, softer songs can make room for new, heavier work. 3) The Innerstate that has remixed Sigur Ros and written Sidewinder are a duo from Riverside California (60 miles east of LA).
