Formed in 1996, Ink & Dagger was a vampire-themed post-hardcore band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The two permanent members throughout the band's career were guitarist Don Devore and vocalist Sean McCabe (who passed away in 2000). Other members included Dave McLaughlin, Ashli State, Joshua Brown, Jennifer Layne Park, and Eric Wareheim (of "Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!" on Adult Swim). They were notable for bringing the theatrics of glam rock bands like KISS to punk rock shows, and for mixing more experimental rock music with hardcore and punk elements. Band members frequently incorporated references to vampires in their music and often painted their faces and played with fake blood. Members were previously in The Mandela Strike Force, Frail, Crud Is A Cult and Flagmanand Guilt.
