Having formed more or less by accident out of the necessity to fulfill a gig for a friends 21st Birthday party back in June last year, Indoor Fireworks have been huddled away in their practice room in Hartlepool writing and critiquing thier songs ever since. In late November the band made their live debut 250 miles south of their native East Durham in London at The Bedford for The Musicians Benevolent Fund Songwriting Awards 2007. Marc scooped the £2000 prize for songwriting abilities awarded by a panel of songwriting luminaries such as Guy Chambers, Kathy Denis and Dan Gillespie Sells (The Feeling). The first half of 2008 has seen the band continue to stir their creative juices whilst occasionally escaping from the practice room to play a handful of live shows sharing the stage with the likes of Feeder, Captain and Pete & The Pirates. The band also made their mark on the airwaves picking up radio play on Huw Stephens and Steve Lamacq’s BBC Radio 1 Introducing Shows. With all this already under their belts Indoor Fireworks big expansive romantic pop songs is ready to be imbedded into a lot more peoples consciousness within the coming months.
