Individualdistanz is a german aggrotech / EBM founded in 1999 by Juergen Frey, who created the first songs on his own. Frank Roth joined the one-man project in 2001. Shortly thereafter backing-vocals and lyrics were added by Andreas Horr and Holger Brandt. They gained substantially more attention after winning the 2004 Sonic Seducer 'Battle of the Bands' contest. In the beginning the minimum equipment was used while the necessary know-how was compiled. The music developed since 1999 to include the use of both analogue and digital equipment. The initial style started with dark instrumental songs featuring samples supplemented by vocals. Later material offers a broad spectrum which reaches from the EBM ballad up to the dancefloor killer for the clubs.
