The Montreal-based Indigone Trio plays a striking brand of modern acousic jazz, using repertoire spanning from Björk to Ornette Coleman, original compositions and standards. Since their formation as a McGill University student group in 2003, the trio has been exploring and expanding their personal and collective musical visions. As a group, they have accompanied great Canadian saxophonist Kirk MacDonald, and have performed widely in the Montreal area, as well as at the 2006 International Association of Jazz Education (IAJE) conference in New York City. Their music is influenced by their peers and heroes, ranging from the jazz tradition and classical world to the recent developments of rock, soul and electronica. The trio has also worked intensively with string quartets since 2006, as heard on Indigone Trio & Strings.
