InI MLD brings hardcore conscious music from the underground to the masses who have been subjected to dysfunctional music for far too long. In this high-tech wasteland, music has become a distraction rather than a tool for upliftment and satisfaction...well, all bad things must come to an end. Thus the emergence of InI Mighty Lockdown--King Negus and Jolomite, survivors of the fittest, a fixture of the New York Underground Hip-Hop scene since the early nineties. Starting with the groundbreaking InI single “Faking Jax”, produced by DJ Pete Rock and Mighty Lockdown's weekly underground performances in New York's East Village they made a recognizable mark on Hip Hop's conscious scene. In late 1995 InI & MLD was reborn as InI MLD. From that time on the group has continued to be successful even without the release of a full-length album. Although life has taken previous members to other pursuits, Jolomite and Negus continue the flow of energy that InI MLD originally created back in their living room in the nineties. Their infectious beats that combine Hip Hop and Rastafarian philosophies continue to keep heads bopping wherever InI MLD is heard. InI MLD's label Trus Fund Inc. is known for their multimedia shows in New York. The show Flare: African Articulations (1 & 2) sold out two years back to back.
