about

There are three bands with the name In Situ: 1)In Situ started as a contemporary praise and worship band on the campus of Nicholls State University in southern Louisiana during the summer of 1997. Shortly thereafter, the four original members began playing separately as "N-C2" and by 1999 began touring and released two CDs, and a single "Neighborhoods and Nations" that got local airplay. The original lineup consisted of Byron Townsend (lead vocals and acoustic guitar), Shannon Atkinson (electric guitar), Chris McDowell (bass guitar), and Bobby LeCompte (drums). In 2003, Bobby left the group to spend more time at home, and was replaced on drums by Matt Gabrielse. The group continues to play, though in 2005, Hurricane Katrina forced some of the band members to relocate. 2) In Situ is a rock band from Gijón, Spain. 3) In Situ is a solo project from multi-instrumentalist Christian Leich.
