A band that’s always changing, In Like Lions allows their diverse collection of life and musical experiences constantly inspire them. The Boston locals strive to make soulful, powerful yet approachable music. In 2010 under the direction of LA based producer, Jim Dineen (Saint Motel, Adam Jones, Whiskey Saints), In Like Lions worked for over 60 hours in just four days at 1867 Recording Studio in Chelsea, MA to record “At Night,” their first EP. The album garnered praise within the Boston community and showcased their talent. Following on the heels of their October 2010 release of “At Night,” In Like Lions was eager to begin their second studio effort. The quartet returned to 1867 Recording Studio in February 2011. This time around, Dineen was joined by owner/producer of 1867, Chris McLaughlin (Mean Creek, Magic Magic, Township) to produce ILL’s latest album. The band has spent over a year writing and experimenting with new sounds and ideas; working to once again separate themselves slightly from what they had previously done. They felt the combination of two producers from such different backgrounds was the only way to bring the group and it’s music to places it had yet to go. The songs demonstrate In Like Lion’s growth and maturation. The band’s current sound is best described as “indie arena-rock.” The new album, titled “Through Red & Blue,” will be released Valentine’s Day 2012 by indie start-up Fort Point Recordings, and the band will be touring hard to promote it.
