There are 2 bands with this name: 1) Post hardcore from Redlands, CA. Released "This Is Our Crime Scene" in 2003. "A profound statement made by a band who been playing music for less than two years. Statements can be deceiving. On the surface, it could make one look egotistical. To this Southern California quintet, it's trying to make people think. "It's actually about the events that took place after Lennon's infamous statement that the Beatles were in fact bigger than Jesus himself." Travis Ducsay, guitarist for In Ashes We Lie states. "Religious groups went nuts and all of a sudden you had people burning their albums and paraphernalia in the street. Situations like these still continue today and it makes us sick. Our song is basically an open letter to organized religion: calm down, the Beatles were bigger than you." In Ashes We Lie formed in 2002 and since then forged a sonic assault on the local area. Now it is time for us to expand. With a demo entitled "Nothing Says I Hate You," already under our belt, we are ready to unleash their debut EP onto the world. "This is Our Crime Scene," continues where the demo left off: Brutal intensity forged with an amalgamation of melodic discords and macabre harmony. Songs like "A day in the life of R. Kelly" and "The Beatles had it coming" show the bands tongue in cheek subject matter and their refusal to conform to the mainstream dribble of clichéd nonsense.
