See Imán Califato Independiente. Symphonic/progressive rock band from Spain formed in 1976 by Iñaki Egaña (bass), Manuel Imán (guitars) from the band Goma, and Kiko Guerrero (drums). In 1977 keyboard Marcos Mantero joined them. With the band closed, the chosen name was: Imán Califato Independiente. The first, "Imán Califato Independiente", is an experimental mixture between instrumental symphonic rock and etnic sounds. It contains the 20-min suite "Tarantos Del Califato Independiente". The album was acclaimed by the critics, and throw them to the road in an intense period of live shows, in spain as in european countries as france or deustchland. In 1980 the band record "Camino del Águila", another great work. The band apparently split on 1982. In 2006, due the 30 anniversary of the band's birth, they released a live album that contains their great "Tarantos", two live improvisations and an unreleased song, all stuff from theyr 70's shows.
