Ilia Darlin is a pseudonym of singer-songwriter Ilia Patapi (Greek: Ιλια Παταπη, b. 31 Aug 1987 in Greece), who débuted with tracks "Stay in the Light" and "Burn the City" (on OST "ArTherapy", Mar 2010, Heaven). She is now based in Los Angeles, CA, USA (via London, UK) and her latest is EP "We Do What We Like" (May 2013, EMI). Don’t assume that because alternative electronic chart topping Greek chanteuse Ilia Darlin’s C.V. (resume for USA) reads “Classically Trained at the National Music Conservatory of Athens” that she sing delicate harmonies over the strings of the Greek National Symphony. Quite the opposite is true in fact. Radical and self-made, Maria Callas and Chase and Status inspired, Ilia Darlin boasts a rebellious yet sultry voice that is a fair match to the dub heavy and rave influenced beats that she gracefully belts over. Ilia’s debut EP ‘We Do What We Like’ does exactly as it says on the label; her cosmopolitan mélange of music, fashion and art are a powerful voice representing the outspoken youth of the 21st Century; from the favelas of Brazil, to the warehouse parties of London and hedonistic parties under the Parthenon, Ilia has seen and lived it all.
