Il abanico is a native Colombian duo, formed in 2010 by Juliana Ronderos (vocals) and Nicolás Losada (guitar). With extremely different tastes in music and similar personalities, they started writing songs and experimenting with new sounds and compositions. Il abanico performs with a full band that includes members from places as diverse as Peru, Japan and Argentina. In December 2010 they recorded their EP Crossing Colors at Studio G in Brooklyn NY. They now perform around the Boston area and have played in venues such as The Paradise and the House of Blues. Rapidly growing on a greater audience, Il abanico brings a fresh proposal of music influenced by alternative, experimental, and pop music.
