::biography:: Idan Rabinovici was born in Tel-Aviv, Israel and spent his childhood moving between various cities and countries. A classically trained pianist, he left the world of music and Israel at the age of 15 to study in the UK and US, simultaneously soaking up the influences of the many different instruments and musical styles he experienced on the way. In March 2008 Idan returned to Israel and released his debut album, 'Bedroom Folk'. The album was written during his travels and recorded in Israel by Idan and a group of fellow musicians and childhood friends. 'Bedroom Folk', independently produced and funded, was critically acclaimed in Israel and received widespread radio play on both national and local stations in the country. Idan toured extensively, playing both acoustic and full band shows (sometimes featuring 9 musicians) and building a loyal fan base that grows bigger with each concert. All this was achieved without any form of PR - just the music speaking for itself. Having returned to the UK in Autumn 2008, Idan discovered he had been handpicked to open at Jose Gonzalez's forthcoming show in Tel Aviv. As well as working hard to promote, 'Bedroom Folk', Idan has recently returned to the studio, laying down tracks for his as yet untitled second album. Featuring many of the musicians who made up his touring band, this new material represents the huge strides taken by Rabinovici since his first recording sessions. ::press clippings:: "Pure musical magi
