Iapetus is a dark/progressive/atmospheric metal band pulling from the genres of melodeath, post-black metal, neo-folk, and doom; attempting to fuse the melodic aesthetic of bands like Agalloch and Alcest with the progressive sensibilities of Opeth. Their sophomore album "The Body Cosmic" was released on November 9th, 2019. 2.) An Australian unsigned experimental project, founded by music student Nic Hale in early 2006. Iapetus pronounced as: (eye-ap-eh-tus). The band draws influences and styles from a variety of genre’s of music such as; Latin, Indie, Fusion, Rhythm and Blues, Reggae, Hard Rock, Psychedelic Rock, Metal and Worldbeats.
