Ian Charles is an award winning singer/songwriter/poet/painter/phylanthropist. Born in London England in 1965. His working class roots began to spark an early interest in music based from the human condition. His love of poetry also began at an early age and brought an interest in the written word and the powerful music/lyrics of Bob Dylan. Expanding to the writings of James Joyce and Lawrence Ferlinghetti. His solo recording career began in 1994 after a series of bands folded in the cities of Los Angeles and Memphis. Relocating to New York City. he began to develop an even stronger lyrical and melodic palette. This has brought him to his most recent work having a consistency of style. based on Rock, Folk, Blues and Traditional Country. But maintaining originality through riveting lyrics.
