IA is the name of more than one artist: 1) a Vocaloid virtual artist, 2) a Finnish metal band, 3) a Māori trio, 4) ritual ambient, 5) JHETT, 6) ambient/drone. Also see I.A. 1) IA -ARIA ON THE PLANETES- (イア) is part of the Vocaloid3 series. Her voice is provided by Lia, who is known for "Tori no Uta", the opening theme of the visual novel Air. Her design is illustrated by Aka Akasaka, while the design direction is by Maxilla inc. She was released on the 27th of January, 2012, and has a light toned voice that is soft and relatively clear. Her voice is similar to her provider's vocals, making her one of the more realistic Vocaloids. She is suited best to ballads that feature her strong lower range. 2) Finnish metal band based in Helsinki, members include Ukri Suvilehto, from the band Abbath, and Jarkko Niemi from Brymir. 3) Māori band making music with both modern and traditional instruments (taonga puoro). Band members are Moetu Smith, Reti Hedley and Jason Crawford. The songs include both te reo Māori and sometimes English.
