Artist
I've Been Franklin is the solo electronic music project of Gregory Campanile which began in the late 90s as a response to the easy availability of the free download of the Fruity Loops demo. Franklin originally worked along such artists as the Eddy Crichton Techno Dream, Brad and the Amptrons, and, if not formally signed to the label, was part of the Sliz records aesthetic of central Arizona in the late 90s and 2000s, working closely with, or as a member of Levines!, Dragon Zone, Hammered Dr. Destructo, the Inevitable Sneeze, Reindeer Tiger Team, Unkill Frankenstein, and Bikeula. Since then, Franklin has composed many tracks using Apple's Garage Band and Logic, and has worked in the groups Entropy of Fall, Filardo, Lloyd & Michael, Total Noise, Key Losers, Jung Guns, Yuccan Woman, and Slum Katz. Most of his early work has been lost to broken hard drives and bad archival work, but a retrospective of his mid work, Barking Spider (a 59 track compilation), and the 4 song (the) Dark Dance (1999), Franklin's first recording, are available by contacting Gregory Campanile. 2009's Settling the Score is available for free from Christian Filardo's Holy Page Records, as is 2011's Fuck the Critics. Franklin released a series of cassettes through Holy Page: 2012's Potato Sonatas, and a double-album release in 2013: Chicken Sounds and Total Yang: End of Franklin. Franklin also DJ's under the name Shrimp Tempura Roll in Portland, OR. www.holypage.org ivebeenfranklin.bandcamp.com www.m
