1) I, The Writer is a 6-piece melodic metalcore band from London, England. 2) I, The Writer is a pop, rock, electronic and blues fusion band from South Africa. 1) Since bursting onto the music scene back in Autumn 2011, the band have succeeded in gathering a large following. Their debut EP ‘The Narrow Minded’ (2012) has proven to be extremely popular, granting them widespread attention both locally and across the world. The band’s flourishing career as young musicians is down to their impressive talent to fuse together atmospheric melodies with crushing breakdowns and snarling vocals. Their influences are incredibly diverse and all factor into their original sound: from Memphis May Fire, Blessthefall and August Burns Red, to Heart in Hand and The Ghost Inside. Their love for such a variety of genres comes through in their energetic live performance. Their ability to command and engage with audiences is evidence enough that big things lay in store for I, The Writer. 2) My name is Jason Thomas. I was born in 1984, on June the 5th and I started writing poetry when I was 8 years old. I suspected it wasn’t considered cool for pre-pubescent boys to write poetry so the drive to write was left dormant for most of my school life.
