Their debut EP "hide & seek behind the throne" has been called the "striking sound" that will "change Canada's strings-happy indie scene." The band's influences include: The Dirty Three, Godspeed You Black Emperor, Roy Orbison, Blonde Redhead, Final Fantasy, Leonard Cohen, Charlie Chaplin and Slavoj Zizek. i see rowboats formed in 2006 when long time friends William Robinson and Luke Fisher reconnected & collaborated to form the band. The duo turned to percussionist Darcy Fraser, multi-instrumentalist Lisa Lipton and multi-instrumentalist Solomon Vromans, and together have established themselves as one of the most exciting new bands in the Atlantic Canadian scene.
