Friends from schooldays in Penzance, Sam Power (lead vocals, guitar), Tom Weeks (bass, vocals) and Ashley Matthews (guitar, keys) teamed up with like-minded Jonny Halliday (keys) and Jim Preston-Evans (drums) whilst all studying at Truro College. Tired of the po-faced blatherings of their contemporaries, I Say Marvin set out their dance floor manifesto with a withering combination of wit and drama – lyrically incisive, musically irresistible. Autumn found them entering the studio with friend and producer, Hugh Jones (Echo & The Bunnymen, Dodgy, Hope of The States), to record four songs that resulted in MySpace log-jam and radio plays on Radio 1 and Xfm, with Steve Lamacq tipping them as one of THE bands for 2007.
