I Accuse!

Formed in 2003 in Detroit, Michigan I Accuse! was a thrash-punk, hardcore band that was active primarily until 2007, and officially disbanding with a final show in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 2009. During their activity they released 2 demos, a self-titled EP on Sound Pollution records, a split LP with Hummingbird Of Death on Sound Pollution records, a split cassette tape with a Malaysian thrash band Young and Dangerous, a live cd, a limited tour cassette and finally a split EP with toledo skate-punk band Life Set Struggle. During their early years I Accuse! was one of a few Detroit hardcore punk bands, the genre not being too popular in the motor city at the time. Contemporaneous with I Accuse! in the Detroit scene were bands such as : Knee Deep In Shit , Threatener, Death In Custody, Random Axe Of Terror, and although not local, Life Set Struggle was very present in the Detroit hardcore-punk scene. I ACCUSE! guitarist Joe Gunnells went on to form the still-active power violence band XBRAINIAX with Knee Deep In Shit guitarist Zach Howard and vocalist Lucas Korte, who also played guitar in Threatener. I ACCUSE! and XBRAINIAX toured together extensively, often playing back to back sets of machine gun-fire bursts brimming intensity and rage.
