Artist
Hughie Stone Fish grew up in Syracuse, New York. He taught himself guitar in middle school strictly - taking his mother's advice - to get girls. He fell in love (with the guitar…) and began playing all the time. When his favorite teacher died, the guitar became a compositional tool for his grief and he wrote and performed his first guitar-based song for the funeral. A music theory course inspired Hughie to teach himself piano, modeling his playing after his Uncle, who entertained Hughie on the piano every time he visited. Trekking in the Himalayan Mountains when he was 17 years old inspired Hughie to apply to various music schools for his college education. The next spring he entered Berklee College of Music as a vocal principle, only to switch to become a piano principle and songwriting major a semester later. Hughie played some of the best venues around Boston with his band of two years, Stone Fish, before deciding it was time to embark on a solo journey. Here he is.
