Hubcap Holmes is the solo effort of Kurt Austin, a teenager from Iowa City, IA. Hubcap Holmes is a Daniel Johnston-esque exploration into lo-fi folk and experimental song recordings. He has self released many albums that have recieved very minimal circulation beyond his closest friends. Kurt Austin refuses to play live shows as well, due to the spontaneous nature of his recordings, and the use of unconventional guitar tunings too complicated for Austin to recreate.
