Hradišťan is one of the oldest Czech cimbal bands. Together with a folk dance group they formed a company of the same name and have been remapping Moravian folklore from its roots in the past into modern forms. Under the leadership of Jiří Pavlica in the past 28 years activity of the group has grown and has been based on their own compositions which for example make use of the verses of poet Jan Skácel, such as on the album O Slunovratu.
