Houseboy, a definitive punk band from Chicago, Il. Formed in 1993 By drummer Brett Friesen (Freese) and Vocalist/Guitarist Ace Cowden (Kowhoon) along with Guitarist Daniel Garcia and Bassist Thom Lemke as the original line up. The band played hundreds of shows and toured the U.S. extensively throughout the 90's and was a local favorite at the now legendary Fireside Bowl. The track "Puke Is On The Way" was a fan favorite which was featured on Underdog Records Achtung Chicago 3 which also featured local hereo's Slapstick and Oblivion as well as many others. They followed that up with two 7" singles on Chicago's Watching records, Last Fridays Selfless All Stars, and Ciao! The bands next move was signing with Florida's Stiff Pole Records who released two full length Cd's, Ya Right, and 1465 Tamarack Street Press Room. They also released a split 7" with Nooner which featured two tracks from the Tamarack Cd as well as being featured on a hand full of compilations. Besides the two core members Brett Friesen and Ace Cowden, the band was a revolving door of members after the 1997 death of guitarist Daniel Garcia. The band called it quits in 1999 playing their last show at the Fireside Bowl along with new comers, New Found Glory opening the show.
