Cedar and Sara started House on a Hill after playing in rock band First Last Chance. In 2002 they moved into a Queen Anne apartment together and recorded their self-titled debut album as House on a Hill. Besides earning rotation on 90.3 KEXP, the record became album of the week and was one of the top 50 sellers at Easy Street Records during the first half of 2003. They then joined with drummer Carlos Moncada and their sound began to evolve. Long rehearsals and live shows eventually led to their signing with Buttermilk Records. They made their second LP, Ladyslipper with producer Gary Mula. Since then thay written their third LP and are currently in the studio with Scott Colbern.
