Hot Rocket grew up in South West London and found each other nestling at the back of basement venues, drawn together by a mutual sense of adventure and a fascination for the absurd. As the abundance of hair and tales of reckless abandon began to amass, so did a repertoire of songs that drew from their separate influences and grew into a unique amalgam of sound and energy. Bouncing between the festivals of 2007 and their second home, Notting Hill Arts Club, they built up a steadfast fanbase of music fans and musicians alike – a perfect microcosm in which to hone the strong melodies and intelligent instrumentation that manifests itself in their music. Hot Rocket released their debut single ‘Do do do’ in November which quickly sold out and found support from BBC 6 Music, as well as firmly rooting itself on the nationwide XFM playlist. After taking to the stage alongside an eclectic mix of breaking bands, from Ox.Eagle.Lion.Man to Laura Marling, Example to Noah and The Whale, Hot Rocket returned to their burrows for the winter to write and record a new album’s worth of material. They emerge fresh, effervescent and eager for their tour of the UK and Europe which starts in April and coincides with the release of their second single. Hot Rocket are at heart a rock and roll band - in the old fashioned sense of the word. They are an antidote to today’s MOR saturated airwaves yet still maintain the core song elements essential to any successful pop act. User-contributed text is avai
