Artist
Hot Mass are a punk rock band from Swansea, South Wales. They formed in late 2013 and played their first show in April 2015. Featuring members of Arteries, Dividers, and 33. First release, "Nervous Tensions", was released in Spring 2016 via Brassneck Records (UK), All-In Vinyl (UK) & Waterslide Records (JP). Since then they have supported a number of bands such as Teenage Bottlerocket, Drug Church and Red City Radio. In 2016 they joined The Menzingers on their UK tour and the following year they joined with The Bouncing Souls on their UK run. As well as shows and tours around the UK, Hot Mass have also enjoyed multiple small headline tours and festival appearances in mainland Europe. In 2016, Spanish website Binaural described them as "The Welsh Cloud Nothings", while Crack Magazine remarked: "...despite the introspective lyricism that touches on wasting away, rotting down, and having your senses ripped away from you, there’s an overriding optimism that makes every song arresting and urgent". Similarly, New Noise Magazine said: "The turmoil and chaos of Nervous Tensions is cold, hard and hits you like a brick but somewhere in there is a grain of optimism". 2017 saw them release their split single with New Junk City via All-In Vinyl as part of their transatlantic series. They recorded their second album in February 2020, which is set to be released in the near future. hotmass.bandcamp.com (Additional scrobbles for "Hot Mass" are from a club based in Pittsburgh, PA) Us
