With a sound as gritty as the dust devils of their homeland, HOSS (Hooked On Southern Speed) was formed in Ft. Collins, CO. over a decade ago by southwest Kansas natives Tommy Ray (vocals/bass) and Michael Damn Brown (guitars and illegal fireworks). Though there have been some lineup changes and hiatuses over the years, the band has been a staple on the Colorado rock & roll scene. The current lineup is rounded out with Ian Webb on drums and Jarrett Payne Ellis on guitar. Their music plays homage to the rock gods these country boys were raised on: Kiss, AC/DC, Motörhead, and many other staples of the Headbangers Ball era. Armed with hot licks, drumsticks, and guitar picks, HOSS is a brutal onslaught of loud fast rock & roll, pausing occasionally to take a shot of whiskey.
