Homa Niknam is native to northern Iran. She discovers the singing very young in particular through his father who organizes many meetings in his musical and poetic. Alongside his studies of Fine Arts at the University of Paris-Sorbonne, she is learning to sing with artists such Mohsen Keramati, and Hossein Omoumi and Hengameh Akhavan. She also took courses in vocal music at the center of medieval Paris in the class of Berry Hayward. Homa Niknam has performed several concerts in Europe as a member of the Ensemble Moshtaq led by Reza Ghassemi. In 1995 she became a member of the vocal soloists Hamavayan Ensemble edited by Hossein Alizadeh for all concerts and recordings of this set. Homa Niknam is currently studying the development radif (Iran classical repertoire), knowledge of different schools of singing and interpretation with master Hossein Alizadeh.
