Hollow Me is the name of the musical project by Ben Raisbeck. He tends to write about the unforeseen, the uncontrollable, the hardships of life and those feelings you get that you just can't suppress. Ben was born in North Yorkshire where he lived until he was 11. From there he moved to County Durham where he stayed until the age of 30, then he relocated to Newcastle Upon Tyne. Ben took an interest in music from an early age, but it wasn't until the move to County Durham and a start at a new school that he started to play. The keyboard set up in the music department became his escape from harsh day to day school life. Then there was a break. A number of years later he found himself feeling the need to start making music again, not for any kind of commercial or critical acclaim, but as a form of therapy. Ben has many influences from the pop music of SAW he listened to during his early school days right through to bands like Dubstar, Garbage, Kenickie, BIS and Alkaline Trio, and artists like Dot Allison, Kirsty MacColl and Imogen Heap. Ben's music explores the things that happen everyday, the way he reacts to situations and how those reactions may be caused by past life experiences. Being bullied all the way through high school and living with an Obsessive Compulsive Disorder which causes over thinking are themes that come through in his music. He tries to make his music honest, heartfelt and sincere. Ben chose the name Hollow Me because it can be read two ways. The
