Artist
There are at least two bands/acts called Hollander. 1. Formed in 1979 with a CBS record deal already in their pockets, Hollander was a short-lived Dutch rock band featuring Toon van den Berg (vocals), Carl Carlton (guitar), Ruud Englebert (drums), Otto Cooymans (keyboard) and Jan Pijnenburg (drums). CBS firmly believed in the band's potential. Their début LP, Hollander (1980), was mixed in the United States. They got to tour with Golden Earring and Ellen Foley, but sales were disappointing and Hollander folded. Today, their line-up looks like that of a Dutch super group, as Hollander's band members moved on to bigger things (Vitesse, Time Bandits, Herman Brood & His Wild Romance) or even very big things: Jan Pijnenburg became the drummer of Doe Maar. 2. Hollander is an indie punk band from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, United States. Armed with an intense energy and an infinite thirst for beer, Hollander is five fellows who provide energetic indie punk to anyone that has the drunken fortune to catch one of their shows.
