Hoja Madre is an instrumental rock band from Peru, founded in early 2018 as a power trio. Its core members are Manuel Bracamonte (bass), Paul Bracamonte (guitars) and Franco Tenorio (drums). The band's style is heavily rooted on the seventies period of psychedelic rock, albeit with a spin of meditative and melancholic approach to their formative body of work. This musical personality is arguably evident on their first Extended Play "Hoja Madre (2018)", which has been released independently. The trio has been gaining followers inside the Peruvian musical independent scene considerably, due to having been picked up by "Doomed & Stoned" to be part of the first live concert organized by this international collective in early 2019. They also have been introduced to foreign listeners thanks to the lukewarm reception of their first material in both independent and specialized press such as Sonidos Ocultos (Chile), La Legión del Mal (Mexico), DenpaFuzz (Latin América), El Coyote (Brazil), among others. Reviews published in press such as La Habitación 235 (a music review blog based in Spain), describe the band capable of creating "smooth, delicate progressive sessions, although without losing any of the acid rock aesthetic to caringly pen a love letter to the genre's main traits. Heavy sounding oscillations that showcases the credentials of this young power trio with the intent to convey the visual imagery of the city of Lima, Peru”.
