Hoàng Duyên, whose full name is Hoàng Thị Mỹ Duyên, was born on June 23, 1999, in Tây Ninh, Vietnam. She is a young V-pop singer known for blending Northern Vietnamese folk influences with modern musical styles. From an early age, she showed a strong passion for singing despite being naturally shy. After graduating from high school, she moved to Ho Chi Minh City to pursue a music career, supporting herself through various part-time jobs while studying music. Duyên joined DreamS Entertainment after multiple auditions, eventually impressing the company with her determination and unique vocal tone. She rose to fame with songs like “Chàng trai sơ mi hồng,” “Sài Gòn đau lòng quá” (a collaboration with Hứa Kim Tuyền), and “Sài Gòn hôm nay mưa” (with JSOL). Her music is characterized by a gentle, delicate style that fuses traditional Vietnamese elements with a fresh, youthful appeal. In 2021, she won the “Best Asian New Artist” award at the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) and has since been regarded as a promising voice with a distinctive identity among Vietnam’s Gen Z artists.
