Hiroshi Iwai (岩井宏) (February 23, 1944-July 24, 2000) is a singer-songwriter. He is a folk, bluegrass, old-time banjo & guitar player. He was established as "the best banjo player in Japan" in "folk reports" published by art music publishing, and influenced many successors as a pioneer. In the midst of the Kansai folk boom, he made his debut as a singer-songwriter after supporting popular singers including Wataru Takada.
